Great is Your goodness O Lord..

Father in heaven, no eye has seen, no ear has heard and no mind has conceived of the infinite goodness you have laid up for your children, for those who fear your name. No one is good but you O Lord and every good and perfect gift comes from you. In your goodness you give us life and health and provide for our sustenance. In your goodness, you have   protected is from the plans of the enemy. In your goodness, you have poured your love in our hearts and fill us with hope even in hopeless situations. As a good shepherd, you always lead us through green pastures and in your goodness you restore our souls. We go through life's  dark valleys, grim shadows & troubled waters, but even there your goodness follows us. In your goodness, you draw us up from the miry pit and set us upon a rock. We were lost in sin and rebellion as slaves to the devil. But in your goodness, you sent your only Son to pay the ransom of the punishment that belonged to us. How great, how unfathomable is your goodness O Blessed Lord. In your goodness, each day you keep us and preserve our lives on this earth. In your goodness, we are being delivered from the power of sin & becoming more like Your Son Jesus. In your goodness, our hearts are made tender so that the seed of your Word may bear fruit in us.  In your infinite goodness, you enable us to press on towards perfection and maturity so that we will in all things grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ. And in your goodness, you will bring us into our heavenly home where there is everlasting joy, unending peace & glory forever Amen!!

Oh how great is Your goodness, Which You have laid up for those who fear you, Which You have prepared for those who trust in You.

The Shift In Our Gaze

O Lord God Almighty, Father of Glory - we turn our gaze upon you. We make that shift today with our faces turned towards you. For too long we have sought comfort & reprieve from the world that we live in. For too long we chased after pleasures that do not profit our souls & cannot satisfy the deep longing in the innermost recess of our beings. We looked for answers but received none. We looked for encouragement but were always met with despondency. We thought we would find light, but we stumbled in deep darkness much to the peril of our own lives. Father, we look no further to broken cisterns that can hold no water. We turn our gaze to You, the Giver of Life. In you Lord, we have found much encouragement. In you, we find rest for our souls. We have hope because of the gift of your dearly beloved Son &because of  His work of redemption on the cross we are united back to you Our Father, Our Creator, Our God who alone can fill the deepest longings of our hearts. Our eyes now turn upwards, Our arms wide open to a Loving, Gracious & Welcoming Father waiting for us to lay hold of You & find peace & tranquility in your sweet embrace. We make the shift today from looking to the world that is fleeting away to the Eternal God our Father to gaze upon your unfading beauty and seek your face forevermore. Amen!

God Our Father - Gracious & Full of Mercy

Lord God Almighty King, you are a wonderful & awesome God, glorious in majestic splendour & ineffable holiness. Yet, you also are our Heavenly Father, full of mercy & grace. You are always loving, always welcoming us with arms wide open. Your tender smile is ever comforting and the warmth of your arms refresh the weary in heart. You display such great mercy & kindness upon poor miserable creatures like us. You are infinitely patient and always bearing with us. We sin and we fail, our hearts are so often drawn to the world, we give in to the desires of our flesh & are many a times  earthly minded. Yet, O Father, you never give up on us. You are ever willing to cleanse us, transform us & set us back on the road that you will have us travel. You gave us your Son, the good Shepherd who has promised to always lead us & guide us. Our sin was a great offense to you O Holy God, but your Son Jesus Christ our Lord took upon Himself the penalty of our sin on a cross and ever lives to make intercession for us. Therefore, we daily come with confidence before the throne of Grace and ask you to change us and make us like your Son. We open our hearts to you and ask you to fill us with your Holy Spirit who makes us Holy as you are Holy. The Spirit who gives us holy desires, makes us heavenly minded, reveals the mind of God and imparts the very nature of Christ to us to the glory of God our Father Amen.

O Loving Father, how great is your mercy towards us.

In Difficult Times - Hope in God!!

Amighty God and Father, we lift up our weary hearts to you this day. These are difficult times, times of darkness, despair & discouragement. Times where the future is uncertain & dark clouds of hopelessness loom over the horizon of our lives. Where do we find hope? Where do we find consolation? How do we bring comfort to our aching hearts? Lord, in times such as this, our hope is in God. In the midst of all the clamour & negativity in the world around us, we hope in God. When the government let's us down, we hope in God. When the healthcare system collapses, we hope in God. When men and women are questioning whether we will survive this or not, we hope in God. When the enemy's flaming arrows of fear come flying our way, we hope in God. Truly Lord, this is also our wake up call to our world - Hope in God. This world that we live in - where everything that can be shaken will be shaken, we offer an unshakeable refuge, a strong & unconquerable  fortress - Hope in God. Father, in this hope we rest & cling to. We have hope because of Jesus Christ your Son for through his life, death & resurrection, we are reconciled to you, your love is poured into our hearts & your eternal peace guards our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Because of this hope, we shine like stars when the world sinks in deep darkness. We are not discouraged by isolations or restricted movements because we have access to throne of Grace & nothing can keep us from drawing near & enjoying the abundant riches of your grace. It is this living hope that brings meaning & significance to our earthly existence and fills us with unceasing joy knowing that we are the apple of your eye. It is this hope that stirs our longings for heaven when we will know you fully just as we are fully known & love you in a much fuller measure with hearts unhindered by sin. It is this hope that makes our earthly lives profitable for our fellowmen as conduits of this incredible hope.

We Love you Father - God of all Hope.

Jesus Christ - Full of Grace & Full of Truth!!

Dearest Lord Jesus,

How precious you are - He who finds you has truly found a pearl of great price. What a privilege it is to know you and enjoy a living relationship with you. You left the glory of heaven and came to this earth and took upon yourself our frail human nature. You lived a perfect and sinless life through the power of the Holy Spirit. You died on the cross to redeem us from the power of sin and took upon yourself, the punishment on account of our sin. You rose from the dead on the third day so as to enable us to rise with you in the newness of life. In your death, you also crucified our old sinful selves that we may reckon ourselves as dead to sin and alive to God. You O Christ are full of Grace and full of truth. As we gaze upon you, we see the truth about ourselves - our own depraved human nature, our inclinations to sin that so easily clings to us. We see our lack of desire for God and a tendency to set our minds on earthly things. We see the workings of sin deep within our hearts - pride, envy, unforgiveness, dishonesty and feelings of ill-will towards our fellowmen. In the light of this truth about our sin, we also see revealed in you, the truth about God - He who alone dwells in unapproachable light, the Holy & Just One, but also He who is abounding with love & tender mercy towards us. Lord, when we see the truth about God's fiery holiness, we feel undone, unworthy, incapable & incapacitated to be and do a thing that pleases Him. But Oh thank you Lord, for you are also full of grace and in your fullness we have received grace upon grace. Sin may have sunk deep within us, but your grace goes deeper still. It is the workings of grace that kill sin in us. It is the workings of grace that we are delivered from the power of sin. It is the workings of grace that enable us to mortify that lust, that unforgiving spirit, that bitterness, that envy that took hold of us, that pride which kept us in bondage. It is the workings of grace through the Spirit that works in us bringing about Christ-like character, daily transforming us into the very likeness of God himself. Your grace reinstates us back to the very purpose for which we were created, to love God and glorify Him for all eternity. Your grace brings in us an insatiable hunger for God & fullness and equips us to fulfill the ministry that God has for us. We thank you O Lord for your incredible grace. Keep us from  the indulgence or involvement in those things that weaken the influence of your grace in our life. May our hearts always be like a sponge receiving your grace and letting it soften us to the things of God. May your grace enable us to set our minds on the things above and always remind us that we are sojourners in this world. May your grace uproot all love for the world and it's lusts and keep it from enticing us towards the evils of sin. May your grace keep us content with our earthly lot that God has in His mercy allotted to us for the time of our sojourn. Finally, may your grace work in us a deep longing for the coming of our Lord, a holy desire to be with Him and spend all eternity worshipping the Lamb - to the Glory of God. Amen!!

The Father's Great Love!

Dearest Father in Heaven, how great is your love for us. A river that never ceases to overflow and overwhelm us. Your love O Lord is precious, desirable and full of glory. In the boundless ocean of your great Love, your infinite goodness towards us is revealed. In your great Love, you keep no account of our wrongs, but are always showing mercy and forgiving our shortcomings. In your great Love, you cause your face to shine upon us and pour on us thy favour which we scarcly deserve. O what great Love in sending your only Son to die on a cross and pay the penalty of our sin and thus bring us back to you even while we were still sinnners and against you. In love you raised Him from the dead & seated Him at your right hand.  In your great Love, you sent your Spirit to dwell in our hearts to make pure the polluted fountain of sin that runs within us. In your great Love, you impart your very nature to us thereby transforming us daily to become more like your Son Jesus. In your great Love, you provide for our earthly needs and keep us from the plans of the wicked one. In your great Love, you do not let sickness do us any harm, but in your sovereign will cause it to serve your holy purposes & use it for our good. Lord, may we live in the sunshine of your Love all the days of our life. May your Love inspire all thoughts, words and our actions towards our fellowmen. O this great Love of the Father which is only a foretaste of what we will experience in glory when the full blast of his Eternal Love will for all eternity never cease to keep our souls ablaze with unending Praise & Worship to our God. O precious Saviour, may this great Love stir our longing for heaven and cause us to recognize that our existence in the sphere of time is only temporal and that the love of this world is unprofitable & unhealthy for souls and detrimental to our eternal destiny. O let your Love be the anchor of our souls in time of our earthly sojourn & may your Love keep us every moment abiding in You that we may bear much fruit for Your Glory Amen!!
