A Hunger for His Presence

As Christians, we ought to grow in our walk with the Lord. So you may ask, how do i know that I am growing? A sure sign that we are growing in our Christian walk is a deep Hunger for God's Presence. When a baby cries for food she is just being herself. It is a natural phenomena. It means that she is on the path of sure growth. In fact, if she does not hunger for food, there could be something wrong. Are you hungry for God's Presence? Do you seek to know him more in prayer and in the Word? Do you fellowship with like-minded individuals who share the same relationship with the Lord? Is there a deep yearning to love him more even at the cost of legitimate things in your life that demand your time and attention? This is the litmus test of your growth as a Christian: Your hunger for the Lord's Presence. Growth in God is imperative for true Christian living. The opposite of growth is decay. He who is not growing is decaying. If the above lifestyle is not descriptive of your Christian experience, do not be discouraged. Don't let the enemy bring thoughts of guilt and condemnation. Take steps towards true growth. Firstly, Ask! Jesus said, Anyone who will ask will receive. Ask God to fill you with hunger for His Presence. Get into the Word and let it birth in your heart a holy longing for God. Look to Jesus, the author and perfector of your faith and cling to Him in every situation. Know that He loves you and longs to fill you more than you can ask for or imagine. Then as the Psalmist may we say, " As the deer pants for the water brooks, so panteth my soul for you. Psalm 42:1
